Enchantment's Touch

Enchantment's Touch

The winter sun shone brightly

A girl sat in a room decorated with fairy lights

On a bed with twenty-seven pillows

Reading, as the breeze from the window bellows

Her hair is tangled as she pores over a book

From the ink and paper comfort she took

These written words call to her

But what she sees is well beyond the paper

In just a chapter she's lost from the world

She finds herself in a woods where the adventure unfurls

She smells the oaks and pines

It's astonishing how all of it only takes a few lines

The mesmerizing orphic beauty of it all

To her the way these stories call

For some, it might be a bit too much

But her, she's a reader

The one blessed with enchantments touch.
