Distrust
Distrust
Frantically panicking,
She shook off the fingers
That tapped her lightly
On her shoulders.
Gone were the days
When she felt
Its assurance.
She used the feel
The comfort of large crowds
In-office meetings
Chats, Giggles, gossips
Nudging into jokes
And patting softly
On backs.
Staring into each other’s faces
Eyes call the shots now
Not a romantic mellow.
Full of fear, distrust, paranoia
Who contains the virus?
Is it you, you or you- she looked around
Her hand reached the sanitizer bottle
Mechanically and unknowingly…
The human race is now suspicious
Not without reason!
