Death
Death
Today I do not wake
From this deep sleep.
From foot to head, I am frozen.
My eyes are stuck, unmoving.
I feel someone walking around me.
They wrap me in white cloth,
Someone gently cleans my body,
Then lifts me into the air.
A voice whispers, “La ilaha illallah,”
As I am lowered into the grave,
And covered slowly with earth.
