Conundrum Uncracked
Conundrum Uncracked
Conundrum uncracked, this and that, an ancient country
Vedas and Upanishads we hear about from the speaking tree.
We talk of Vasudeva Kudumbam and Sanathana Dharma in the stage of the world
Yet discriminate in the name of castes in our own back yard using many a word.
Worship the women by way of rivers and numerous goddesses
Yet don’t hesitate to rape, whether the jeans are ripped or not.
Extol the famed kings aka Vikramaditya's for the sense of justice
Yet delays in dispensation, not without prejudice.
Sadhus and scientists jostle each other in competition, god benediction
Science and superstition, a heady mix, for the masses’ benefaction.
Corruption and donations a daily event, Gods cut their cut
Privileges and sacrileges, values go kaput.
Elections, keep up the hypocrisy, a semblance of democracy
Masses counted and discounted, one wonders at this idiocracy.
Tika festival, Kumbh Mela, migrants back on the train home, rising COVID graph,
Is it time to write, for the martyrs at the crematorium, their epitaph?
