You were the fresh droplets of rain nurturing me to grow,

Never thought you would perish showering clouds of love.

You were the fire bringing warmth to my heart,

How could I not realize you were reducing yourself to ashes and dust.

You were the wind encouraging me to spread my wings and fly,

And I couldn't sense you were stifling your dreams to help me reach the sky.

Maa, the guilt pierces my soul, breaking me into thousand pieces,

How could I not see through your pain and that lingering sadness?


You were an angel in disguise with a smile brighter than the first spring bloom,

But the light of your love isn't there to save me from the shadow of gloom.

I ponder and wonder, was it your gorgeous smile that shielded your tears,

Or I erred by not seeing the malaise beyond your grandeur.

If only I could turn the wheels of time back and change everything,

And fill your life with joy, laughter, and a heart ever so smiling.
