Christmas Gifts?
Christmas Gifts?

Christmas is coming, and now it is here
With presents and wishes, to be of good cheer
Our loved ones are near us, it’s our reason to hope
All that God puts before us, and helps us to cope
Can we still see the stable, where a poor child was born
Are we blinded by glitter, on the bright Christmas morn
For many in this world, there’s no light in their lives
Christmas for some, others never see it arrive
This time of the year, when
our thoughts turn to joy
Many don’t have a home, like that small baby boy
So can we be generous, like those kings who were wise?
For those who have nothing, but tears in their eyes
The homeless, abused, downtrodden, and poor
Deserve better from us than a heart closed like a door
So choose your gifts wisely, give a thought for a few
Who have nothing but what’s given, from me and from you
Make a Merry Christmas for those less fortunate.
