Once it so happened,
That I went to visit an orphanage,
The abode of the children of god.
They are the children of god
Yet so unfortunate to not share,
The joys we enjoy.
They, with their beautiful smiles,
Filled my heart with happiness
Yet, it was not only happiness
But also pain
The pain with which their fragile hearts,
Might break if discouraged.
It is, after visiting them that I understood,
That they could never get discouraged.
That they never needed sympathy,
But what they actually needed is empathy.
That there heart only looked fragile from afar,
But were actually hard and shiny like diamonds
It is then that I realized that they,
Indeed were the children of god.
