Bullfighting-Lament For A Bull

Bullfighting-Lament For A Bull

(Bullfighting, mostly practiced in Spain and Latin America is a very barbaric sport which claims the life of 250000 innocent bulls each year in the utmost cruel way.)

Enters the formidable bull into the arena,

Amidst the picadors, about to start the drama.

One by one, into the bull, they pierce the lances.

The bull stands impaired, blood flowing out of his bruises.

None to heed to his ailing snort,

All engrossed in this spoil-sport.

A transformation from a magnificent, energetic and proud animal,

Into a defeated, painful and humiliated being, dismal!

Dragging its agony through the sand,

Eyesight humid, anguished breathing, unable to withstand.

Here comes the matador, dressed in fine velvet.

With the red cape, starts he a farce combat!

Eventually, draws he a long sword,

And into the bulls heart, thrusts he hard.

Unwilling to bear more damage,

The bull gives up, the battle and the challenge.

Drowning in his own blood, gives he one last cry.

None to wipe off his tears and help.

None to heed to his needy yelp.

The screams of the beleaguered bull engulfed,

By the blood-lust-driven clamor of the crowd!

Appears in an executioner instead

And rams he a blade, into the bulls head.

Marking the wretched end,

Of a poor soul, innocent.

As applause and exuberance throng the bullring,

The humankind at large, is gravely erring.

The most senseless displays of human malice,

Under the pretext of defending practice!

Folks! It's not a sport, but a disaster!

Come! Let's unite to stop this hereafter!
