Broken Strings

You pulled me closer you pushed me away,

you are the reason that I feel this way.

With you life was a dance, an endless ballet,

suspended in time and then swept away.

From waiting to talk for a minute on your birthday,

to remembering the dates that we met without fail, but alas, anyway..

I played my part with full conviction which no one could replay,

only to realize I was going to be in a disarray.

Shallow hearted you became, a little difficult to weigh,

the sky broke out on me in red dismay.

It's too late for the tears to shed or for me to pray,

I hereby call it out aloud a doomsday.

The path was never expected to be a child's play,

however it may have been but now this is all that I could say.

That I love you, though it's so cliche,

there's nothing else that is left for me to say.
