Before it's too late

Not many would say a word now when there is time,

Not many would bother to ask your whereabouts,

Not many would drop their egos where they always are ahead,

Even though things are at halt people are still running,

Running at pace, on cracked tracks, to reach their destinations unknown,

Running behind God knows what, they only are running, seeing others run,

Mere mob mentality.

What they are forgetting is, time is running too,

At a pace faster than they can even imagine,

And this time, never waits for none, 

It shall never come again the same way the next time,

Sometimes there is no next time, no timeouts, no second chances,

Sometimes even if you try to catch hold of it, it simply escapes,

Sometimes it's either now or never.

Despite being free, time is priceless,

Neither can you keep it, nor can you own it,

Yet you can spend it, wisely you can use it,

No one knows how much time life will give you, how much breathes are left in you,

Pause for a while, grab hold of the opportunity,

To thank the Almighty for the blessings He has poured onto you,

To thank the people around you, who have in one way or the other made your living worthwhile.

No matter how much a person enjoys being alone,

No matter how much a person enjoys his music while walking back home,

No matter how much a person likes to stay back for Friday nights and not go out,

One never likes staying alone for a long time,

Long enough for bad thoughts to creep in,

Long enough that he keeps longing for a shoulder that is no longer available,

Long enough that he starts feeling lonely.

Before it's too late, keep yourself behind and speak a word to whosoever comes to your mind,

Before it's too late, check on your friends who always have shied away,

Before it's too late, leave your grudges aside and catch up with your dear ones,

Everyone is in the same game called life, just different levels, different devils, surviving their own demons,

Who knows they could be waiting, waiting for a moment like this to open their hearts,

Give them their second chance, give yourself a second chance,

You have to do it because life will not give second chances often, better take the first it gives, before it's too late.
