Autumn is Here!

Autumn is Here!

Endowing us with viridescent shades,

How uncomplainingly they tumble down,

Without a noise without a sound,

Beneath the trees, to lay a carpet of caramelised hues,

Paving a way with remnants of withering past,

Reminding us that nothing forever lasts.

Trotting down the familiar lane, the trees standing mighty and defoliated,

Shredding a leaf is a mother's teary gasping,

My mind senses gratitude in these misty mornings,

As I paint a collage of the polychromatic flora,

That had bestowed our lives with a colourful aura.

Soaking in amber sunshine, embracing ourself with cool dry breeze, is yet another season at its peak.

Days shorten, winter is encroaching near,

Grateful is a farmer, for the abundant harvest he wishes to reap through the year.

Twirling and whirling the leaves end their sweet song,

With aroma of fresh pumpkin that accompanies along.

Fragrance of night-jasmine radiates a celestial essence, intimates us of a celebration highly anticipated,

Middle of the viburnums the twilight butterflies appears,

'Tis the time of homecoming for the divine and the much revered,

Preparations of festivities begin with its usual grace,

The city draped in a potpourri of embellishments,

Assures to bring joy in every face.
