If a smile is what it would take, 

I would plaster a million ones, even if fake.

If a dress is what it would take for our stars to align, 

I would wear thousands, even if it's my body they confine. 

Maybe then I'd be of your worth,

Because it's you that I dearth. 

I would tear off small parts of my heart

If I could be with you, a work of art 

To me, you were Prince Charming

And I was cinderella.

But to others, we seemed worse than,

Cassie and Nate from Euphoria

I walk by you every day, 

Hope every time for a simple "hey".

Yet your mouth seems taped securely 

Still, I wander deeper into your allure. 

Another smile I fabricate, 

Wear another dress I hate. 

Because in the end, 

It's just another day I pretend.
