His Demons
All she wants to see is him,
But all of himself he hides.
Protect her, he thinks,
While she just wishes he'd confide.
His inner beast roars and he buries it,
Trying not to let the control slip.
He calms himself but,
All it takes is one rock to trip.
Fear the dark, they said,
But what they should fear are the monsters who thrive in it.
He dreads that he is one of them,
The light he needs is the night which is moonlit.
Show your true self, they said,
His true self would have people would cower in horror.
The deep abyss is what he commands,
The darkness being his armour
