Alone In Fear
Alone In Fear
In my father's thatched roof house,
That night I was enjoying the
Savour of my sweet sleep,
Gone to the world beyond,
Dreaming unimaginable things,
About the world beyond, walking deads,
Communing with my ancestors.
Not until something happened.
I woke up, in the middle of the night,
Only to open my eyes to dazzling light.
Oh my gosh!! A ghost I screamed!
Thinking my scream could make it leave;
Was an exaggeration.
It stood there unmoved by my terrifying screams,
Instead, it came closer,
I summoned death!
To no avail, searched for it without finding it.
Waited for the ground to open
And consume me with its wide mouth;
Not knowing it wasn't hungry.
I was alone in fear with the walking dead
I tried to run with my legs;
So weak to take a step.
I saw the ghost moving closer,
With my heart beats racing like an aeroplane.
The steps became closer,
As it got to my front
I had taken all the courage in the world.
Waiting patiently for it
To take to the world beyond.
I discovered just the next moment,
That there wasn't any ghost;
Coming closer to me.
I had woken only to the discovery that,
I had the imagination of my dream;
Just before my eyes.
I felt relieved!!
Even though I had previously
Surrendered to the arms of death.
