Afterthought

Afterthought

I ache to be just an afterthought

What would it be like to be a ghost,

the faintest of hauntings...?

Like I pass through you

Swiftly, just the blink of an eye

And maybe the colours of your soul

Diffuse with the ghost of mine

But me?

I'm just an afterthought

Tugging at the back of your minds

I don't want the attention

Really, don't think about me

It's way too easy

To have one sided connections

And, I'm scared

To have a single thread holding onto me

Isn't it freeing? I can feel the bliss

The winds and me are at one

Stumbling upon existences

Passing through the attempts to be held

Drifting memories and wafting scents

Just bits and pieces

Carried along for miles

Déjà rêvé

From months ago

I was a ghost

The faintest of hauntings

A replaying memory

Just at the back of your minds
