How can it be...?

To feel so profoundly...

Each thought, each emotion so rich and distinct in its own uniqueness, 

Animated across the mind, so vibrant... 

Yet to shut away all feelings;

Be aware of everything, 

Yet determined to be affected by none, to not even grant

The slides of the world any feeling... 

Superficial alertness...?

A fortified ecosystem...? Thriving... 

And aloof...

A reflex, to expel the stress...

Tears that contain no pain,

Saline drops of emptiness...

Each present stimulus a gateway 

To the past...

Not the real one, but the one 

Stitched in shifting thoughts from other stimuli...

Each sensation... merely a medium 

Connecting to a feeling, tied 

To a past sensation... 

Feelings transcending the experiences,

Mixing in and out of

So many memories...

Just the sheer vibrancy... 

An ecosystem thriving

Within this aloof psyche...
