A lot of me

Ain't really me, you know?

They don't feel so alien,

Though.

Bringing back last summer or

Perhaps an autumn

Years ago.

With the years passing by, find myself

Holding onto so many

Things that aren't mine;

Past favourites

Of souls who I bid goodbye

Growing up we

Grew apart

Sometimes we're still close

Or, maybe, haven't

Talked in 7 years

Who knows,

When it's all so blurred?

Is purple still your

Favourite? Hey, you had

Such a beautiful voice

Do you sing anymore?

Do you still like that song?

Singing it throughout a car ride home

Had forgotten to remember

The lyrics

As the shine in your eyes, and

Our laughs and

The balloons dancing around

Auto-saved in my subconscious.

Do you still like

Talking about fairies and

Fantasies? Sitting in the

Sunlight, the

3rd-grade class?

The ghost hunts and

The faraway

Daydreams we lived off?

Do you smile (like me)

Thinking about that song we

Sung all wrong every time?

Do you still like

Eating snacks by the

Waterfall? Exchanging numbers,

In childish notebooks

Lost too soon.

How are your dogs now? The

Ones I never met yet

Hold so dear.

Do you still curse that

Poor old man, like on the bus rides

To the history exams?

Lives I barely knew or

Perhaps walked alongside for

So long

You're still going strong

I know, but

You left behind your

Favourites though.

Past joys I wonder if

You grew out of...

I've still some way to go

And so do these collections of

People I knew

'Cause like it or not,

(Both you and me)

Just as they once

Dwelled in your life,

Now,

They have a home in me
