Adam's Ale
Adam's Ale
You always fascinated me...
You were somehow... different.
Very different. I admired you.
The stones were cold and rigid... like the hearts.
And the zephyr, fickle. Resembled the mind.
But you...
You were beautiful. Fluid. Free.
Just like the soul, purest of the pure.
I loved you...in every form. Every state.
You were perfect. And kind.
You trickled through my fingers where another hand would wither,
And caressed my face with your cold embrace.
Alas... not enough for me to submerge.
I could spend hours watching you soar,
My cacophony drowned by your soothing roar.
But still...
The silence was the loudest of all.
I beheld your vast, azure expanse
Where the circle of fragile life began...and end.
The tide changed with every stolen moment we spent.
I couldn't tell what the tide said,
Whether the hour was poor or well.
I just hope to cherish the gracious ones
And pray the ill ones tell themselves,
When they be felt.
