A TIME OUT
A TIME OUT
I just need a time out,
To sit on my swing ,
To not think of things
That bother me!
Mindless conflicts,
That life inflicts On everyone.
The inner child in me
Longs to swing high
And swing low,
With only the wind In my face ,
Heart racing ,
Sheer joy bubbling,
As the swing creaks
And groans .
Suspended on a branch
The leaves joining the fun,
Scattering laughter
And disaster To the winds ,
Anything that holds Me back.
My pony tails Bob up and down ,
The speed at which I soar ,
trying to Set the ribbons free,
I swing in gay abandon!
Oblivious to the world,
The world is my oyster,
For a while!
I just need that time out Not to pout ,
But gather my thoughts,
That swing to and fro,
And let that little girl
Know that it's okay to grow
Cause that's the journey Home .
