A Thousand Summers
A Thousand Summers
A thousand summers have passed
Since it last rained between us.
It had been a rain,
Full of our pure emotions for each other,
The clouds of which had been
Shadowing our minds, since
The day we met.
Now, all that is left between us,
Is a barren desert of scattered mysteries.
A thousand summers have passed
Since I last drank those feelings
Swirling around, in your eyes.
I felt, they would quench my thirst.
But, all that happened was,
They made me even more parched
Yearning for more of it.
A thousand summers have passed,
Since I last saw of you
And a thousand more shall pass
Until I shall see anything of you.
But, the distance of these thousand summers
Cannot ever cease the existence
Of my feelings for you,
If anything, they would only
Intensify those.
