A Foggy Evening

The night sky was filled with fog and mist

I was trying to find my way home, with no one to assist

The fog was opaque and very thick

It was as if I was blind; my eyes were playing tricks.

I felt so helpless, not being able to see what was ahead.

That was when a voice spoke in my head.        

It said, "Haven't you encountered similar situations in life,

Where you have to move forward, with struggle and strife

Even though you don't have the faintest idea of what might be waiting for you

You can't see into the future, still you have to continue.

So, whatever happens, you have to deal with it on your own

And anyway, where would be the fun, if the future was already known?"

This voice made me realize the truth right away

That life is just like a foggy day.
