Guilty

A little boy, barely eight, stood by the shore

Barefoot in the shallow water, his expression sore.

As the waves beneath him lapped forth and back

The boy spoke, and his voice cracked

He said to the waves, "No matter how many times you touch my feet today,

I won't forgive you for taking my parents away."
