A Day@Lockout
A Day@Lockout
Morning dawned thoughts ascended
Detoxing ablution, physiological solution.
Caffeine kick or it is a tea you would pick
Turn into a home maid, vessels washed and neatly laid.
Yoga to stretch, flex to build up the ability
Breathing in and out, capacity for life till eighty
News in the paper you read about the virus surge
Lockdown rules to follow, to the people they urge.
Today’s breakfast banana with pancake
With kindled appetite two you take.
A session with words, dance with the verse
Poetry or prose, whichever not averse.
Lunchtime preparation, vegetables you dice
Rice and sambhar, always finish with the curds
Siesta for good, lighter becomes the mood
Fresh in the afternoon, no need to brood.
It is now three forty, time for the afternoon tea
Crumbling crackers, though not the edifice
Ruckus in the balcony, oh! Ravens, thank heavens
No more slogans, life gives a lemon.
Scrabble or a card game, the time you tame
Enough of the talk, now walk the talk
Take a brisk walk, words keep pace
Day has been good, reign did peace.
A light meal for dinner, a reflection of the thoughts, inner
As you lie on the bed, recall the day inside your head
Sigh! somewhere some people don’t have it good
With folded hands, grateful for one’s day, the least you could.
