A City Blessed
A City Blessed
“Kasa Kai Mumbai”, reverberates in the city,
For all Mumbaikars, this is a joyful ditty!
Responding to that exuberant voice,
The day starts happily; it has but of course, no choice!
Alarms at the break of a dawn, tiffins on the way,
Running for the train, catch it he must; come what may!
In the midst of a sea of harried faces,
To the office faraway he all but races!
But there’s something in the bay’s air,
That is beyond compare;
However tired he may at the day’s end,
He still has the energy to a helping hand lend!
Be it a horrific attack or a natural calamity,
The city may be all weighed in and panicky;
Phoenix like the resilient Mumbaikar rises from its ashes,
And helps not just the distressed, but also to contain the clashes!
That in a word is the beauty of this city,
It’s got love for strangers and empathy in its kitty;
With folks like these the city surely is blessed,
They will never go down but will always ride the crest!
