A Christmas Song

It was on this day a Messiah was born,

Who walked like a king of kings.

Among the poor and the downtrodden,

Spoke of peace mercy love and compassion.

They followed where Christ went.

They cried when Christ healed;

Christ preached of love, repentance, and forgiveness.

Then came that day;

When a heavy price Jesus had to pay.

Flogged and tortured on the streets,

Humilated beyond human imagination,

Christ was nailed to the cross;

But amidst this pain he said forgive them father,

For they not what they do.

Forgiving his tormentors.

So on the day of Christ' s birth

Let us celebrate sharing our love,

Let us sing together a Christmas song,

Of love for our neighbours.

Of repentance for brothers who have strayed.

And forgiveness for those who wronged us.
