The Village Life

Life in the village is often full of challenges on a daily basis yet people have no choice but to face the challenges. This is how life was for July Mabunda who lived in Dan Village as challenges were just mounting on a daily basis. July always found life in the village to be peaceful as the people in village are always forgetten by the government. 

Dan Village was a community where water was the first challenge for the villagers. The villagers would always have a convoy of wheelbarrows go to get water from the nearest dam in the morning and also in the evening it was a daily routine for the villagers. The water would only last two days. July went with his friends to fetch from the dam, July said why are we still pushing wheelbarrows while the whole country gets water from their taps in their houses. 

July's friends Robert, Fiona, Lisbeth and George took time to reply to to July. Lisbeth said that remember July we are a forgotten village where the leaders only remember us when their need us to vote for them. Robert add I feel like our leaders are always wearing a promise fabric as that is what they do best to issue promises and disappeared when. Fiona said we have rights to protest if we feel neglected by our leaders. George looking at the eyes of Fiona, says who will listen to us if we protest as we found this situation here. 

"I hear you guys it just that our lives would be easy if we could have water running out of our taps," July as he feels exhausted from getting water from the dam. George said, " On top of our water crisis we have power cuts of electricity in the morning and in the evening, this why no one likes to stay at the village." Fiona replys to George," Yes George no one enjoys power cuts at this point the name of our village should be Problems village as our parents are extremely tired of this place the only thing keeping them here is that land is expensive in other places."

Robert digesting the words of his friends and he responded by saying," Guys we are young people we have all the imagination to come up with solutions instead of crying each day. " All them got to their different homes. Dan Village is a village where the Tsonga tribe were mostly dominating, a tribe which likes to have peace instead of fighting to bring change. Robert keep his word in his mind. When Robert meet his friends at school he asked them, "Guys did you think of solution, as you can see that even the school is old and tired." 

July said, " With water our parents can sit down together and try to get a borehole for us to get water nearer." Lisbeth says, " For our school the school can try to do a fund raising to fixing the school. " Fiona added," The electricity part we can try to find how solar panels work. " From that day the village started to listen to young people and things got better.
