On the seashore, we had a date

To talk things over without haste

Tough decisions we'd have to make

That would upset our respective mates

With trepidation, we walked to meet

Stolen moments from eyes unseen

Bare our hearts, confess our love

Got truncated right from the start

Friends we were from school days

Lovers became along the way

Promised adulthood would wed

Fate intervened we had to separate

Two decades post marriage

Bumped into each other at a fete

Eyes met, love, rekindled

Stuck with our commitments

Our secret rendezvous no one knew

We declared our love anew

Under the gaze of stars and moon

Decided not to break our homes
