Hope

Hope - She is a terrible lady.
She comes when you are most needy.

When you are disheartened and broken,
The battle is lost; you know it.

To lay down arms is all that remain,
And truth be told, you ought to do it.

Now, too tired even to despair or cry out loud,
But is it maybe, you are still too proud?

This is the stage she favours – her grand entrance.
Poor you, overawed by hope – in a blessed trance.

Her smiling innocent eyes and kind smile easily wins your trust.
Oh!! The ecstasy, when she softly whisper in your ear.

Do not weep, ready your arms, wipe off the battle dust.
I am with you still, it is not yet the end of this war.

Guided by hope, you renew your fight,
But trusting Hope repeatedly, is that right?

Will She lead you to warmth and victory,
Or stab you with daggers of cold betrayal, in secrecy?
