A "Survivor"

It's time for me to put my load down

To cry those tears un-shed

To speak for myself as a child would

To have a good night's rest.

To stop screaming in the night

Dreams where I'm in flight

Hands and mustache reaching out to me

Holding me, poking me,

Scratching me, biting me.

Have to speak up

Have to first accept

Have to first acknowledge

Have to first forgive

Yes I'm a child abuse "Survivor"

And it wasn't my fault.
