Smoke Burns
Smoke Burns
The smoke burns houses, lives, childhood
Just to name a few
Yet people smoke on and on
Why and for whom?
The hoardings, advertisements and billboards
Claim, smoke claims lives
Yet people smoke and smoke
Why, just why?
Families destroyed, livelihood goes for a toss
Smoke burns all.
The young, the old, none spared
The thrill, I guess, does the job.
What good does it do, to burn happiness
With a pack of smoke,
Pay for medicine unnecessary,
Play with lives galore?
Why not quit?
Why not give up?
Where quitting is strengthening,
Where giving up lends value,
To life precious, of one and all.
