Footprints On My Heart
Footprints On My Heart

Like the soft cool breeze he entered my life
It was unnoticed and much without strife
He touched every part of my soul
And he left it satisfied and whole
And now upon the sand of my heart lay his memories as footprints, faded but not washed out
The soil of my heart was treaded countless times
But never did it fell so enriched
My life sought love many a times
But never did it feel so much at peace
And now upon the cushion of my heart lay his words as pearls, scattered but not destroyed
Every word that he said seemed so dear to me
His absence in my life was the biggest fear for me
And t
o reality came my biggest threat
And there I was again all alone and bereft
And now upon the flesh of my heart rest his kisses, abandoned by him but not dried up
His voice almost felt like heaven
Where on earth did this charm he learn?
Now my every night is left to yearn
Cause the course of fate who can turn?
And now upon the portrait of my heart flash visions of him, slightly hazy but not wiped out
The memories are very dear
And the love, quite plain and clear
No power can lessen this love’s zeal
But I’m left fainted by this ordeal
And now on the shores of my heart rush the oceans of his love, alienated but not died out
