Nathan’s Great Escape

Spending nights

And days together

On the eve

Of college election

Pasting the posters

Making the slogans

And the great grand speeches

For the leader of our choice

 

Our strength was low

But we fierce fully fought

Heaped praise on the leader

Led a great grand campaign

And made them feel

That we are going to be

The winners

 

On the eve of elections

 I was standing on the road

To go to the college

Showed my hand

To take a lift

From the jeep passing by

 

It halts for a second

I step into the Vehicle

Find something amiss

Hockey sticks and the Iron Rods

Make me shiver

And cold.

 

Someone in the Jeep

Asks me

Do you know Nathan

I say Yes

I have heard of him

Seems he is campaigning

For a leader of his choice

 

Shit leader someone shouts

I'll Kill this Nathan the other screams

There was a fire in their eyes

Just to burn me out

And as the college comes near

I step down, thank them

And say I have some work to do

Their search for Nathan continues

As I take shelter nearby by.
