Young People Get Their Voices Heard And Make A Difference

“You are never too small to make a difference".-   Greta Thunberg

Climate Change is a threat to the future of the Children. We, the Children bring life full of hope through our imagination, innovative ideas, and creativity to shape a better world for our future.

Children environmental activists for climate change like Greta Thunberg, Licipriya Kangujam, Autumn Peltier, Isra Hirsi, Leah Namugerwa, Ridhima Pandey, Xiye Bastida and many other children involved in climate strike in their school and in their Country. Fridays for Future, a movement led by Greta Thunberg and other children helped the children to raise their voices against climate change in the world in the year 2019 and there were Global Youth Climate strikes. The unity of the children from all over the world brought a wide change and the world leaders started to recognize the voices of the children.

“Age doesn’t matter to make a difference. When children raise their voices for the issues that affect them, another world is possible and change is possible”- Licipriya Kangujam

As young people, we can get our voices heard through various ways such as starting environmental clubs at our school, joining volunteer groups, non-governmental organizations which works towards climate action. All the young children who stand against climate change can host campaigns and talk to community groups to help carry out the change that is happening all around us. We can write short stories with illustrations, write books, and post articles in newspapers, about climate change to create awareness among all the people in the world that we are living in a world that will become barren. We should encourage all the environmental activists and host cartoons to show the danger of climate change in a sensible way. The paintings and cartoons of climate action will picturize the whole scenario in a wonderful way, where it will reach each and every person. We can also organize community cleanups in our society, in our area, participate and conduct many tree- plant drives. We can support and work for campaigns for nationwide climate law, climate education in schools and we can make available sustainable crafts, climate actions and resources for all the people.

Most people always care about what is happening around them. They don’t think about what is happening to the Planet we live or what is happening on the other side of the world, so we, the Children have to step up our game and show everyone that climate change will change the course of our future. We should think about even the smallest things that we can do to save our planet which in return will lead us to a safer and peaceful life. This world will not change until the people of the world take action or responsibility to make the change that some won’t do. We can make posters and inspire so many people but unless they spread the word or realize how important this is, as it can drastically affect the way we are living right now. We can protest and stand against climate change but nothing will change until the people out there listen. We may not be able to save lives but definitely we can change the minds.

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide, What kind of difference you want to make”. – Jane Goodall

The COVID 19 pandemic have moved people all over the world to action. Some countries like South Korea, Italy and France have decided that the pandemic response is an opportunity to rethink about energy, infrastructure, industry and government in ways to cut down pollution and reduce carbon emissions that are contributing to climate change. Climate change is considered to be a potential threat, and is already having real-time impact on millions of people in the world through extreme weather change events such as floods, soil erosion and cyclones. After COVID 19, the world will never be the same. So we need to think how to live our life differently by restoring nature. It is not enough to focus on economic recovery, but to recover the biodiversity and ecology is needed and stabilize our environment to create healthier economies.

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Nothing is going to get better, it’s not.” -

The Lorax (Dr. Suess Quote)

World leaders, The United Nation, Governments, International Organizations, Environmental Activists, Scientists, Children, Businesses and Individual Citizens of the world need to unite as a single global community join hands to make this world a better place for the future.
