I am a writer and as obvious, ink and paper are the only charms of my life. What does a writer need? A heart called the paper and a soul called ink which fills the heart with life, yet every time a new one!

I was once sitting on my chair reading a book when I heard some murmurs from the side of my writing desk. I eagerly looked there and to my surprise, my ink pen and my paper which was clutched on a writing pad were communicating, rather fighting!

The ink pen said - "I'm more dear to any writer you choose from this whole world!" Defending itself, the paper said - " Without me, where would any writer use you? Don't act like a fool, I'm more important!" Listening to this, how can the ink-filled pen stay quiet? It too replied - " Don't you forget that without me, you are all of no use to a writer!" And then they got into a fight about who was more important to a writer!

I decided to solve their confusion! I went near my desk and took the ink and the paper and kept them side by side. I sat still in front of my desk, lost in deep thoughts. Once again I heard the same murmur, but this time it was for me. The paper asked - " Miss writer, what are you thinking about? Why aren't you writing anything?" I replied to the paper with a smile - " I'm thinking that to a writer, what is more important? Paper or ink?" Hearing me, both the pen and the ink looked at each other and the ink said - "No doubts, no objections, I'm more important, it's obvious." The paper too spoke, "No I'm more..." I interrupted them and said, - "Fine Don't fight. I'll take an oath right now. Till I don't find the answer, I won't write anything!" I said and went off from there.

Days passed and I didn't write and there the paper and ink stayed unused. But after some days, I was again sitting near the desk, sipping my coffee and then the paper spoke - "Oh miss writer, please write on my something, I'm lying here all plain!" The ink too spoke - " Yes miss, please write with me. I am feeling heavy here!" Listening to them I too replied - "But guys, I still didn't find my answer. Dear paper, with what shall I write on you? And dear ink, on what shall I use you?"

Hearing my words, both the ink pen and the paper started looking at me, shameful for their useless fight. Both of them said together - "We are really sorry! We have understood that for a writer, both of us are important and dear. If one is the heart then the other one is the soul. Please write using us!"

I smiled at their confession widely and took the ink pen and the paper as now I'd got a new story to write and so penned it down with a title 'WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT?'
