What Is Love ?

Arun found it fascinating that a person of his age still cherishes the true meaning of love. His wife is no doubt very understanding and caring as well, but what Arun wants to know whether she really loves him or not? They never talk about love, only confine their conversations to mundane affairs.

Arun has been suffering from mild back pain for the last few days, which makes him a rather irritating person shouting at his family members on the flimsy grounds.

Today, he went for USG and it has been confirmed that he has stones in the gall bladder. Arun was somehow relieved. He thought of more fatal consequences.  

Beena had been waiting for Arun's report. Her face looked somber and pale. Arun understood how concerned Beena is for his well-being.

Did he wonder whether is it a sign of love?

Beena got up from the chair and proceeded towards the main door. She is a working woman, a staff nurse at a government hospital. She has no time for such frivolities. Arun felt bad for himself. 

She has no time or empathy for Arun. 

His attention suddenly fell on their old maid, Rani Didi who has been working there for more than a decade. Beena treats her like a family member and never disrespects her in any way. Both are very fond of each other. Arun's opinion on their relationship is rather different. He thinks Beena has a vested interest in mind while dealing with her so nicely.

Meanwhile, Rani Didi stepped onto the balcony from where one can see the people passing the narrow road. Arun also came to the balcony curiously 

Beena has just come downstairs and is on her way to their courtyard. Rani Didi looked downwards from the railing and looked at Beena with a concerned love. 

Arun has a eureka moment. In a flash, his mind understood the true meaning of love. He also realized his love for Beena has been superficial. He was more concerned about himself and a big judgemental guy. He has lost the game of love to an outsider! So, love is all about nothing but feeling.
