Watching Him Go

//HE IS WITH ME//

"Your brother won't see the next sunrise. He is in a coma for 3 weeks and now the therapists are telling he might leave his mortal frame tomorrow"

I was in the waiting room. A hectic day yet at school, loads, and tons of homework. My brother 'used to' help me in those.

// 10 minutes pause.

"His pulse rates are dwindling. The body, it's cold now. Oh! too cold. The collapse might happen at any second now. Brianka, Get your works done for now. "

My parents knew that someday near my brother would die. He was suffering from pancreas cancer for 6 months and the doc had already given the deadline.

Both of them were ready for this day. They knew this was coming.

I could literally Reconcile all my 18 years of memories with him.

//" Sister, What are you thinking??"

Nothing, just the times spent with you.

"Mhm. Do you think This is real?"

Brother. Are you still in doubt?//

Both of us started laughing.

After 19 minutes...

// The Ventilator turned off. The lights were down. The doctor came and announced,

"Mdm, Sir, your son is no more. He took his last breath at 12:23 AM. I am highly grieved over his death. My condolences to you. May his soul rest In Peace"

Rest In Peace? My brother has been with me the whole day!! He went with me to school. He told me the answers to the test. We talked just now...

AND HE IS RIGHT HERE WITH ME, WATCHING HIS BODY TAKEN AWAY:)
