The Weird Thing I Saw That Day

The Weird Thing I Saw That Day

It was a quiet night, and I was walking slowly toward the rooftop of my house.
The wind was blowing softly, carrying a strange chill that made me feel both calm and uneasy at the same time.
The sky was pitch black — it was a moonless night, and the streets below were nearly empty.
As I climbed the stairs, I suddenly felt like someone was calling me from behind.
The voice was faint, almost like a whisper carried by the wind. I stopped and turned around, expecting to see someone.
But there was nothing. Only darkness stared back at me. Brushing it off, I continued walking.
Then I heard the sound again — this time, a little clearer. It came from the street below.
I turned quickly and saw what looked like a drifting shadow, as if a car had passed by. But no headlights, no sound. Just emptiness.
A strange panic started building in my chest. My heart beat faster. Still, I forced myself to stay calm. “Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks,” I thought, trying to brave the feeling.
But as I reached the last few steps to the roof, I heard a quiet voice — clear, close, and whispering my name.
I stopped dead in my tracks. My body froze, but I managed to slowly nod my head and whisper, “Who are you?”
 Silence
The air around me felt heavier. I turned toward the direction of the voice — slowly, carefully.
That’s when I saw him. A tall figure stood there, nearly eight feet in height. He wore a black blazer that blended almost perfectly with the night.
A brown hat sat on his head, hiding his eyes in shadow. His hands were long, thin, and covered in strange, creepy marks that looked like deep burns or scars.
My entire body tensed. I took a step back, then another. Suddenly, he raised his hand toward me.
That was enough. I turned and bolted down the stairs, not daring to look back.
My feet barely touched the steps as I ran as fast as I could toward my room.
The moment I reached the light from the lamp above my bed, the strange presence vanished.
The chill in the air disappeared, and everything returned to normal — or at least, it seemed to.
That night, I didn’t sleep. I lay awake, staring at the ceiling, thinking about what I saw — or what I thought I saw.
It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced.
And to this day, I still wonder if it was real… or just a nightmare that followed me into the waking world.
The end
