The Unhappy soul
The Unhappy soul
There she sat in a gathering of people she loved, laughing, having fun, appearing to be the happiest person but deep inside was a turmoil of emotions running through her mind, gasping her in with all might, ceasing her to be what she is. As a little girl, Sarah was this bubbly, chubby cheerful lass who would make anyone smile with her charm whereas now she was struggling to smile and hide her evasive feelings in order to be unanswerable to anyone. "What am I thinking? Just stop!" She said to her conscience.
Earlier she tried sharing with her family and friends what she was going through, there were judgments, harsh words, unprecedented advice. She is in a bubble wanting to break free, trying to breathe, endure the pain and carry on but the vicious feelings engulf her yet another time.
"So, How are you? they ask, but the minute she expresses her feelings, judgment starts"... After a long day being with loved ones, fake smiling and bearing the negative thoughts, she starts for home exhausted while everything feels a Hercules task.
"Leave me alone!" she mutters to herself, but for the poor soul, it doesn't help. She gets a call from a depressed friend, sobbing and sharing her story of being so close to ending her life. "Its going to be okay, you're not alone" were the words of advice which not only consoled her friend but made her day. "Thanks, Sarah! Means a lot darling" she said smiling and Sarah too learnt it's going to be fine.
So, the next time you meet someone depressed, don't ridicule her distress. Hold her hand and hug her tight, just say it's going to be alright........
