The Story Of Kindness
The Story Of Kindness
Kelvin was a teenage boy studying in a college. While going to college when saw anybody facing any problems or hurdles in his or her life, he would always lend a helping hand to him/her. People living around Kelvin thought that there is no use of helping others. There was another boy named Rudy who had many kinds of prejudices for the poor people. He thought that spending money on poor people is useless and is a waste of time and energy. Rudy used to tease Kelvin very much for his kind and helping nature. Kelvin didn’t hate anyone and was kind towards each and every person around him. He also took care of dried plants, injured animals and beggars by spending his own pocket money which he received from his parents. He helped the old and needy people who were not able to work on their own because of some injuries.
One day when he was on his way to college, he saw an old woman struggling to arrange her fruits for sale. Seeing this Kelvin asked the old woman, “May I help you in keeping the fruits in an orderly way? The woman nodded and Kelvin kept aside his bag and said, “Let me arrange the fruits”. Then the woman smiled and allowed Kelvin to help her in selling fruits like oranges, apples, and pears by arranging them properly.
Then at that moment Rudy arrived and asked Kelvin if he was willing to come along with him to college. Kelvin said, Wait a minute! Let me finish the work of Grandma.” Rudy picked up Kelvin and went to college. Kelvin kept on thinking about that woman and was feeling bad as he could not help her for a little longer.
After the college was over, Rudy asked Kelvin “Why do you help these poor and rustic people with your own money? It is a waste of money and time, my dear”.
Kelvin replied, “I help these people not for my profit, only for the happiness I get by helping them”. It is of no use talking to you Kelvin! Get away from here. Kelvin very politely told Rudy that helping poor and needy is the greatest service to mankind.
The next day, he started for the college from his home. When he reached the corner of the road where he gave donations to people, everybody clapped for him. Rudy was also passing through the road and saw the beggars and the old woman appreciating Kelvin. Rudy felt Kelvin was doing great service and felt ashamed of mocking at Kelvin. Now Rudy was a changed boy and his heart also opened for poor and needy.
