The Stand-in

Hey! You. Come here. The Casting Director called me when I waiting in the queue for a TV Show audition.

He said he is looking for a Stand-in to the leading lady and give me some papers to read and to sign afterward.

What is this clause? It's been hectic to read all the documents before signing. I have asked the Production Assistant.

He said I do not get any credit for my work. All I get is some money to be the Stand-in.

As a Stand-in to the leading actress in this TV Series, I have to substitute the actress for arrangements of camera and lighting before filming.

I signed the agreement to become a full-time Stand-in in the series.

Being a single parent I have a lot of things to do on daily basis to make my daughter feel secure. I felt bad and thought I will never be In front of the camera. I mean I will be always behind the camera.

I am there till the evening as they adjusted the camera and lighting for a scene in which Amanda(lead actress) walks crying on the road.

As Amanda got stuck in a situation ship problem, the director decided to use my long shots from the back.

No one can identify as the camera shots are long and I am almost dressed as they said.

I was elated. It was for a few minutes, but I walked with confidence. I cried really.

After the shoot was completed, I went the home and my daughter returned from daycare.

I played with her. That night i saw the stars. I felt they are also doing Stand-in for the Sun.

I started writing about the Stand-in actor's diary.
