The Sound of the Bullet

A game going on in the neighbourhood of Rajesh, who was cheering for his friend Steve. The morning air flew gently as the clock said the time 8 am. Suddenly, a voice as deadly as death, sounded in everyone’s ears. A bullet hit Steve on his chest and he lay down dead. Soon a way after 5 minutes reached CIB officer Neil, with sub inspectors Kamya, Ali and Mohammad. As inspecting the body, Neil asked everyone around here what just happened and soon met Rajesh, who called them. Rajesh told the scene to him and then Neil inspected Steve’s house. Lay there mother Natasha crying for her son and father Roger comforting her, with tears in his own eyes. One thing Neil noticed, no pain in the eyes of Maid, Madhuri. This made Neil suspicious.

*Clue: What did Neil see that made him suspicious?As he went on, the body was examined and post mortom report came out. CIB doctor,Vishnu, said in a statement that there was kadipatta leaves itch on his body and it sure meant that the murderer had a contact with kadipatta and accidently passed it on to bullet and then to Steve. Oh how I miss him!Roger: I went for buying eggs in the market for breakfast. Then Rajesh called me and told me the heartbreaking news. I wouldn’t have killed my son even if we had a worst fight.Madhuri: I was removing my nail polish and then I heard strong voice and then nail polish remover fell on my wrist.Neil was still suspicious of Madhuri, but he had a new suspect who was giving a silly statement. Could anyone cook dinner when there was no breakfast ready? Still, he left them with a warning of not going outside the city.

Dr. Vishnu called them as he had found new evidence. The bullet had a sign of the shop called ‘Bolbanduk’. It was certain that the murderer had bought the bullets from the shop. As Neil and Ali were reaching the shop, Mohammad and Kamya followed Madhuri and Natasha. The shopkeeper Murabba said “I don’t remember much, but I will tell you what I know. I don’t know her real name, but she said that her name is Mur derazin. She bought only 1 bullet and said she needed only one for the job. She gave me Rs.80 and went on her way. She wore a black mask and….. ha! She had a scar on her forehead.” Neil and Ali said goodbye to Murabba and soon remembered about seeing a scar on Natasha, which was pretty visible under her foundation. As the theory pointed towards Natasha, ali got a call from Kamya “Ali, I just saw Natasha taking money from a rich-looking man, and saying that the plan worked perfectly.” Ali told Neil the saying, and now they were certain that Natasha was the murderer. In the house of Roger, Natasha lay peacefully watching T.V as Roger called people asking them about his son’s funeral money.

CIB officers watched this and asked Natasha why was her mind in so peace. Natasha started sweating and made another nonsense bahana. By one slap of Kamya, Natasha groaned as she told her confession, “I was fed up of my son as he always got the love of Roger. Moreover, he was not my real son, he is the son of Roger’s first wife, Naina. I was just like Madhuri a maid just cooking and there in house for just show. And then I met Magana, Money-lender and he told me about his hatred for Steve as people made him lend money to them for tickets to watch Steve’s play. We then decided to kill Steve. While sitting on the window of my room, Magana shot him from the farthest tree and everyone just saw was Steve dying and just heard was a bullet. I was happy that my son was killed and now I had my husband all by myself. But it didn’t happen. My husband fell in depression and when I went to Magana for advice, he lent me about 1 lakh rupees and said me to take him on a vacation but you guys just spoiled everything. May you never rest in peace…” Kamya stopped her mouth and Neil solved a case and sent an order request to Supreme Court for Hanging a criminal. The case ended with loud cries of Natasha…….
