Murder in Pune

Neil sat in his office with Kamya, Ali, Mohammad having a cup of tea and cheesecake. Yum! Suddenly the phone of Ali started ringing. He picked up the phone and after a moment, sat up in shock. Neil knew that was the call of a person, who called for by seeing a murder. Neil reached Shivaji Nagar and made his way in the crowd. Person lay dying was Raja, a small coworker. “A bullet has hit him on his head.” said Ali. Who would do such a murder, and that of a coworker, whose salary is less than thousands a day? Neil decided to investigate Raja’s house. The worn out dresses, half broke cupboards made no sense behind his murder. Ali spotted a door behind the cabinet and called Neil.

Neil decides to ask Raja’s wife Sayali and his mother Kamini. “I don’t know about it. I didn’t even know there was a door behind this cabinet. Raja always warned us to not move this cabinet.” As a thought, the CIB officers one by one go inside crawling and find two trunks, like that of treasure kept far away from each other. A foul smell came from one. They opened the chest and found a dead body. They sent it to Dr. Vishnu for investing it. In other found notes of 2000s! Angry Neil asked wife and mother about this but they were themselves shocked to see so much money. Back at CIB office, Dr. Vishnu explained, “When I rejoined his face through face recognization app, I got to know he is Mr. Rahul Paranzape, a rich money lender. I also found some traces of poison and some sharp cuts of knife.

This means he was first tortured and then was fed poison. I also found fingerprints of Raja on the knife you found near the trunk.” This surely meant that the murderer of Mr. Rahul was Raja. But why would Raja murder Mr. Rahul. This case is getting more intense……They decided to meet Mr. Rahul’s Family members. His wife Mrs. Gayatri, his son Parag and his sister Liana. Neil asked them about Rahul and who knows why, they had a fear in eyes. They explained that they had lost contact with him 5 days ago and they had thought it was because he had gone to New York. As Neil uttered the truth, they cried in pain, as if they were acting. Neil decided it would be best if he searched their house for clues. The house had 3 floors, including a basement. Ali searched the things in the basement and found a letter with Raja’s name on it.

It read:-‘DEAR RAJU, YOU HAVE BEEN LOYAL TO ME BUT I MUST TELL YOU THAT YOUR WIFE HAS BEEN INSULTING ME SINCE LONG. MY TRUSTED MANOHAR HEARD YOUR WIFE CALLING ME A PIG-HEAD. STOP YOUR WIFE FROM DOING SO OR YOU WILL HAVE NO DECENDERS. RAHUL PARANZAPE.’Neil had slowly started to understand why there had been two murders. But still, what had the money found in trunk had to do with it? Neil asked Ali to keep a close look at Rahul’s family. Neil further decided to ask Raja’s wife once again about Mr. Paranzape. This time not by respect, but by slaps. She muttered, “ Yes, I hated that Rahul pig-head. Whenever we wanted money for mummyji’s treatment, he said no by saying he had no money left as they were going on vacation. I was so angry I uttered all the belief of mine to my husband. He got up angrily and said that he won’t leave the moneylender alive. He went to his house. I thought he was joking so I went to market with mummyji. He looking scared and he ordered us to not tell anyone about him hiding Rahul saheb’s body inside the trunk. But we seriously don’t know about the money.” Neil knew the Rahul’s murder case was solved but what about Raja murder case??

The answer was at Rahul’s house and as expected Rahul’s wife muttered everything. “When he didn’t pick up my phone, I thought this had something to do with Raja. So I sent Liana to investigate his house and she found his dead body behind the cabinet’s secret door. I got super angry and decided to end Raja’s life. I then decided that I should keep the body there itself, as all the proofs would point at Raja. In the streets of Shivaji Nagar, I shot him a bullet from the terrace of the highest building from there, Maruti Plaza. I hid the gun in the garden. I hated his wife. I decided to put her in jail too. I hid 3 crore rupees in one trunk that I had made from a trunk maker that looked similar and hid it next to the body.” The case was solved. After 15 days, from Supreme Court came the order for hanging Gayatri and 10 years jail for Sayali and Liana. God is really clever, ‘He has given a mouth to speak lie and eyes, to tell the truth.’ Case closed……….
