The Road To Travel

The Road To Travel

This place was heavily wooded with trees in different hues, birds chirping unknown, unheard melodies. There was a road winding along the path and going into the woods and disappearing fully covered with the fallen leaves.

There she sat, counting the blades of grasses just below her feet. Little ants were trying to chew something out of the mud and they were simultaneously crawling over her pants.

She heard a voice. That was barely a few minutes back, she wondered. But then there it was, again and again. When she came to terms with it finally she was already weeping with her hands covering her face. The sense of rejection, loneliness and the immediateness of it all was overwhelming her. She summed up everything and came to the conclusion that this was all she could ever offer to the world. Maybe this is all she ever had, she told herself.

At that precise moment, she spotted a small budding shoot from a little plant across the road. Amidst the humongous trees, this lively swaying shoot attracted her attention. It was swaying in the gentle wind as if calling her by its side. She was so surprised that her tears stopped suddenly. She leaped up and in a single sprint was next to the little plant. She observed the plant for a long time, the place it was growing, the huge tree it was under! That plant spoke to her as though it was telling her that it wanted to live and thrive. The huge tree next to the little plant created a thick and huge canopy and foliage and the entire area under the tree had very little vegetation growing around it except this little plant. The sunlight that reached the plant was a mere trickle, far less than what it shone brightly up above in the sky above the tree’s canopy.

At that very moment the space she was in right now in her own life made itself present to her... Shriveled, shaken, constricted, longing for sunshine and space!

May be she forgot from long, how to be her own true self not knowing that she had to stand up for herself. All that she ever needed to do now was to express. That, to create her destiny her choice to plunge was all that she had to make!

She never did that before. Never.

Wait… look at her gait now! What's that jetting out within her carefully folded hand? Oh that little plant with its roots intact, wanting so much to grow!
