The Rise of Evil

It was early in the morning; all the villagers gathered at Nikhil`s house. They gathered there to console him for the loss of his only brother, Kumar. People started moving forward offering prayers to his dead brother. People gathered in tiny groups and were speaking about a house, where Kumar had dared to move to find its mystery. It was an abandoned house far from the village which holds, several tales of horror in its stomach.

Someone in the crowd says” it is high time now, we need to carry on the further rituals before it gets too late”. Nikhil agrees to it and they moved Kumar’s body onto the cot-like structure where he was supposed to be carried to the burial ground. Four of his friends carried Kumar’s body, where his brother was moving in the front carrying a pot in his hand.

The people walking along with him started murmuring that, “if Kumar had not visited that abandoned house, He would have been alive.” He is such a nice person and he cared for everyone and all the villagers are sad for the loss. All the people reached the burial ground. They made everything ready for the funeral.

Kumar was placed on the pile of sticks and Nikhil performed his last rituals to his brother. He lit the fire and through the flames, we can see the dry eyes of Nikhil with no tears left. All the people started moving back to the village. They took Nikhil along with them. The Burial ground is so quiet and the Kumar’s corpse was burning high. Few dogs are wandering here and there for the meat.

After few years, one night, at the abandoned house, a stranger named, Arun reached there in search of help, as his car tire got punctured. He knew nothing about the place and the abandoned house. He can see the village with street lights glowing at the far end. He moved towards the house and yelled “Is anyone there?”. No response received.

As he can see the nearby village at a walkable distance, he decides to go there and look for someone for help. He was sleepy and he saw a tap nearby. He moved towards the tap to wash his face, to overcome his dizziness. He turns the tap and puts water on his face, as it smells odd, he turned on his mobile flashlight and faced it towards the tap. His face was filled with fear as he saw the blood-filled water flowing through the tap and the blood starts moving towards his legs. His heart came into his stomach and he was unable to shout.

Soon, the weather in the burial ground became so calm and composed in such a way that, one can hear their heartbeat. The dogs wandering there became attentive as they sense the presence of someone. The wind started blowing heavily and the fire becomes so intense and the ash of the burnt sticks is moving in the air.

Arun felt the place suspicious and starts running back to the car. On his way he saw Kumar, he says that something is wrong at that house and he needs his help. Kumar replies “there is nothing to worry about, that house is mine, you might be got scared seeing something else. Please come with me, I will help you”. They started moving towards the house.

Meanwhile, in the burial ground, through the flames, we can see a dead body that is majorly burnt out. The area is quiet and half of the burning body stood up. The ash present on the body flies in the air towards the abandoned place, where Kumar and Arun are walking into it. Soon with a cunning face, Kumar turns around with a cruel smile on his place.

At the same time, Nikhil removes the garland from his brother’s Kumar’s photo, to represent as if he is not dead.

Simultaneously at the burial ground, the fake head of the burning dead body fell down with its body turned to imply the dead has returned.
