The Rat And The Elephant

One day a little mouse was going somewhere along the same highway where the king's procession was about to take place. He was a small mouse, but his pride was very big and he considered himself the best and the greatest. After some time a grand procession of the king came out from the highway, which started getting crowded to see. The king was with all his entourage. His soldiers surrounded him. Many ministers and acolytes followed him. He was riding on a huge royal elephant. The elephant was royal. That's why it was decorated lavishly and its glory was also visible. The elephant was accompanied by a royal cat and a dog in the procession. The crowd gathered to watch the procession of the king was praising the king as well as his royal elephant. Hearing this, the proud mouse felt very bad. He started looking at the elephant carefully, then started thinking - 'What is so special in this, which is not in me. I am also like that. I also have two eyes, two ears, one nose, and four legs. Then why is he so admired? Because of its huge body, because of the long trunk, because of the small eyes or because of the wrinkled skin. Wherefore? Once you see me, you will forget that elephant. I am greater than the elephant.' The mouse was thinking all this that the royal cat's eyes fell on him and his saliva dripped. Leaving the procession, she ran towards him. What was then? The rat, forgetting all its greatness, ran away by pressing its tail. While running he came in front of the elephant. The elephant moving forward did not even see the mouse from that body and lifted its huge leg. The mouse was about to trample under his feet, but somehow he saved himself. When he escaped from there, a dangerous dog was in front, which growled at the sight of him. The mouse ran away with all his life and entered a hole on the side of the highway. All his pride was gone. He had realized that he was not even that great and great.

Moral: Mere resemblance of appearance to someone does not make us great. Great make our virtues and actions.
