It was a tiring day. My patience was equivalent to a cotton thread. I wanted to reach home as soon as possible. So, I drove with the highest possible speed. Then - just then - my car decided to run out of fuel. Moreover, it had already started to rain. There I was, in the middle of nowhere, hating myself for taking the shortcut. The road was desolate and silent; so silent, that I felt my heartbeat telling me that I was scared. It felt so creepy.

Yet, I fortunately saw a bus stand but I guess it was bad luck that the next bus was scheduled for 4 a.m. But as they say, every dark cloud has a silver lining, it gave me an idea of booking a taxi to go home. Unfortunately, I remembered that phone was dead. I guess I would have to rewrite the stars to be able to see my apartment door today.

The only option I had now was to walk. But in what direction? Well, right is always right so that's where I went. Maybe it must be a bad decision but who cared? As soon as I started walking I saw a queer man coming towards me. Shivers ran down my spine. Tears ran down my face. Blood went cold. That's what fear does to you. It makes you feel feeble and vulnerable. The man kept coming closer and closer and started to seem familiar. But I neither had the courage nor the strength to be able to think. I had made up my mind. This was the end. I guess this is what fate is. By now, the man was right infront of me. He whispered to me, "Happy Halloween, Sister". It all made sense now. The man was my very own brother and it was 31st October.
