This bizarre incident happened ten years ago. Till now, a chill runs down my spine, on my reckoning my youth days. My mind doing its best to explain, and to search for the evidence; but all efforts in vain; it’s of no avail. The more I think of the happening, the more unrealistic it seems. But I know it was real because it happened in reality, not a mere fantasy, or a dreadful nightmare. It was all real! When I narrated the same to my family, they ignored, calling me insane. But they were not there, when all that happened; they did not witness it. How can they call me mad, when they are unaware of the actual happening? I know I am not mad. These thoughts corrupts me, and make me insane if it continues to haunt me. Therefore, I pen down my drastic memories, to let the world know of the bizarre incident that took place a decade ago; for I fear, I might not be sane by the time I narrate my story to anyone in person.

‘It was a stormy night, I had hosted a party at a mansion I had rented for the occasion. A week after, I had to leave the country for my new job. It was a farewell party. Most of the guest laid drunken and dead-flat on the couch, on the floor, or anywhere they could lay down on. Room was dimly lit; the whole mansion was dimly lit, as it was not a loud jazzy party with dance and music, but something like a dead soul would like to hover around. Everyone was having a good time. At least, it was the way we had fun.

I searched for the face I loved, the face I would not see again the next week onward; the face of my girlfriend. I had told her the time party commence, and an hour later, she was yet to be spotted.

I sat on a chair, lonely, beside a window which gave me the view of the full moon, silver white bright light; and to me, the moon seemed lonely too. Amidst the stars it hung, the stars gave no company to the moon, likewise, my drunken party mates laid senseless and motionless. Even the few awake sobers sat silent and still, among the reek of the drunks; and no one to talk with me. "I shared a common feeling with the moon", I thought.

At last there came a tapping. A tapping on the window pane, and it startled me; interrupted my peaceful company with the moon. I turned around to see and there was the familiar face. I instantly got up from my chair and opened the window, and through the window she got in. Dressed up in a white gown, wet and stained with mud and red, was that blood? I don't know.

“Odd time and odd way for someone to enter a party, don’t you think?” I said.

She smiled and said nothing.

“Hello? What’s wrong?” I asked again.

She smiled and stayed silent.

“Wait, let me get you a drink” I said, then left for the whiskey counter.

Half way through the hall, my cellular phone beeped and alerted me of a new message.

“Sorry, I couldn’t make it, Have fun. We’ll meet tomorrow” said the message from the person saved as Babe.

“What do you mean? You are here. Don’t be ridiculous.” I replied.

Ting! Another message, “Haha! Very funny, I’m home and very tired. Goodnight”

That shocked me, I totally forgot about the drink and ran back to the window where the impostor still stood immobile, just the way I had left her.

“Who are you?” I shouted and shook her by her shoulders.

Then she pushed me; a push so strong that threw me to the ground after flying back a meter. After pushing me, she exited through the window, the same manner she entered in; before I could get back on my feet.

After getting up, I jumped out of the window and landed on the flower bed, but she was nowhere seen. And the flowers had not been trampled upon, except by me. It was as though she never stood there. But that's not possible; there is no other way, or more space there to stand by the window, avoiding to step on the flowers.

Who was she? Or what was she? I don't know, and I don't have an explanation either.

All I know is that it was all true, and I did not lie.
