Once in the kingdom of Stieveland, there lived a king. His name was King ‘Robert Bruce’. After some years of his kingship he had married a queen named Alice. They were very happy with their marriage.

They were happy but sad too as they wanted a child. After ten years of their marriage also they didn’t have a child. Queen Alice was very sad and wanted a child, as a tension of this she started to be ill and the king was very much upset and so he asked every saint for some advice. Finally one saint told him that a fairy lived in the dark forest. King Bruce was very happy and the next day he went in the forest, at last he found the fairy after some weeks. King Bruce asked her to grant his wish for a child. The fairy granted his wish but the king looked sad.

The reason was that the fairy had granted him a wish that the Queen will give birth to a child but he/she would live only for 15 years.

The king told everything to the queen and she told “Bruce its no problem if our child will live for 15 years but at least she would live with us.” The king realized the words of the queen and kept mum. After ten months Queen Alice gave birth to a little princess. Both the king and queen were very happy.

After 15 Years.

The princess’s 15th birthday has came. The king and queen were very sad and confused. The princess asked them what was the matter and they told her everything. The princess was so hurted that she ran into the dark forest. She cried there for a while and after that the fairy found her. The princess told her that she wanted everyone to remember her and wanted to make her a thing. The fairy so made her a onion and so if we cut an onion we get tears in our eyes as we cut the princess.
