The night creeps and the Phantom approaches...

It was a cold and breezy night. A boy of sixteen named Raman was walking through the dark and dense forest. He had accidentally got parted from his friends while they were out to explore the woods of Uttarakhand. Mesmerized by nature’s beauty, he had wandered off to a different place far away from his companions.

Raman quietly walked past the high trees. The weather was extremely bad. There was a strong blizzard going on. Raman felt as if the gale tore his body into two parts. He was wet and weary. ‘How horrific!!’ he exclaimed…

Travelling in this condition for several kilometers, he finally halted at a small hut where he thought he might spend the night under its protection. Raman could only see the dim light that made the cottage visible in the dark. He finally had hope and made his way towards the house. Reaching it, he knocked on the door to see if anyone was there. An old lady opened it and welcomed the guest inside. Raman told her about his condition. The old lady agreed to give him refuge under the roof of the hut. He was very happy.

The house in the inside looked very dark and gloomy. The wood which made up the ceiling looked damp. However a well-lit fire made the place comfortable than the outside.

The two of them spent some time in talking with each other. The old lady even gave him some clothes to wear and arranged food for him. Raman interrogated the lady with a variety of questions and she answered with such honesty that he felt he was quite secure there. It was 11‘o’ clock at night. After dinner, the old lady led him to a chamber where she proposed him to go to bed. She then took her leave and closed the door behind her.

Raman stretched his arms and retired to bed. The lights went off. Everything was going peacefully until half past one.

Raman was suddenly woken up by the sound of strong lightning somewhere near. He got out of his bed. As he turned to the left, he saw the shadow of a person who was looking very aggressive and was repeatedly hitting a structure with something sharp. It appeared like the corpse of a man. Then it disappeared. A chill ran down Raman’s spine and he began sweating.

Then the horror came to him. The door of his chamber opened, and the old lady came in. But she had changed completely than before!!! Her face appeared burnt, her eyes were as red as burning coals and she was wearing a long white dress. But what terrified him was the dagger in her hand. It looked as if it was sharpened recently. Slowly this phantom of the supernatural world approached him. ‘What are you doing??’’He said in a low tone...

Why do you have that bloody dagger in your hand!! But the spectre said nothing. Raman could not believe what he was seeing.

Raman screamed,’ No way…it can’t be you …Noo...Nooo...NOOOO!!!!!

But it had already occurred…….

Stab....Stab...Stab....KILL..KILL…KILL……..

A second beam of lightning struck the place and everything went dark again …..
