The Missing Cupcakes

The delicious aroma of the cupcakes drifted in the kitchen while all of us were waiting tensely for them to bake. Suddenly the timer started to go off and we took the cupcakes out of the oven and left them to cool down while we started to work on the frosting. No one was talking. It was very queer. All four of us were busy and all of a sudden I felt like something happened. I looked around to see what it was, but nothing, everything was as perfect as it could be, or so we thought. 

After a while, we were ready to ice the cupcakes but then we had a terrible shock. Our cupcakes were missing!! We couldn't believe that anyone could have done such a thing. It was so horrible of whoever did this. Evelyn started to sob. "It is a waste. All the hard work and time we spent on making those cupcakes. They were perfect." "We could never make another batch as good as the ones before," agreed Alison. But I said that there is no use if we don't do anything but sit and worry. Carole looked at the clock. Time was running out, we only had an hour and 15 minutes left!! We had to hurry!!

After about 45 minutes our cupcakes were out of the oven. We hurriedly iced them while they were still warm and finally, when they were done they looked like zombie cupcakes. The drippy buttercream looked like their face and the jelly beans looked like their eyes and the red and white fondant looked like their teeth. Even though the cupcakes didn't look promising, we weren't discouraged and still were determined to enter the Bake-Off. 

As we reached the destination we saw a huge number of contestants ready with their cupcakes. The Bake-off was ready to start. The judges tasted all the cupcakes and were discussing the winners. And the results were announced... No one including us would believe this... But we won the Bake-off!!! We were as surprised as everyone else, no one thought we would win the contest. But we did. The judges announced that our cupcakes were exactly what they were waiting for, since a long time. They wanted something new and different and unexpected. Those words hit me. 

We never thought that our cupcakes would go missing and we never thought that our cupcakes would end up looking like zombies. We never thought that we would have to bake and ice cupcake in 75 minutes and we never thought that we would win this contest. Just like that, we have to face new, different and unexpected changes in our life. We won't be expecting these changes most of the times but they come. And when they come we have to go ahead with the situation and make most of it.
